Education
Traditional education relies heavily on reading and writing.    Students who are weak in these areas are excluded or fail and drop out.     Howard Gardner has developed the idea 'multiple intelligences'.    MI theory considers the individual differences in the way students learn.    More students are included and succeed.

Teaching
Substitute teaching in the public schools.    Taught programming at a vocational school.     Trained educators in the use of computers.

Learning
I have a master's degree in human development from Pacific Oaks College. One of my interests is Gardner's Multiple Intelligences.    There is a simple test that you can take online.    If you decide to take the test, please email me a copy of your results.     Look for the link here: Click Here

Leaderless personal growth/support groups.     Whenever you have two or more people coming together, you have a group.    This group has come together either with no purpose but to socialize, or for a purpose or task.    When a task group is formed, each member wants to make a contribution and wants to gain something from participation.    The benefits for each participant are maximized went the meeting is structured.    I refer to this structure as group process facilitation.    What I consider to be the best structure is the one that is equalitarian; the contributions of each participant are valued equally and the use of time is agreed upon so that everyone gets what they need.    That way each individual's joy and satisfaction are maximized.    For more information on this, search the web for Radical Psychiatry (soul healing).     Claude Steiner was one of my teachers.    He has written many books.

Spirituality

This will give you an idea about what I have in mind when I refer to spirituality.    We have physical and mental aspects to our lives.    I am using the term spirituality here to refer to that which is outside of physical and mental.
Spirit  =  The immaterial intelligent or sentient part of a person.
Spirituality  =  Of or relating to supernatural beings or phenomena.
Spiritualism  =  The view that spirit is a prime element of reality.
I have studied yoga and zen. I have learned from Alan Watts, George Leonard, and Jean Houston

Psychology and Well Being

What do you do regularly that contributes to your wellness?    It could be spending time alone or socializing;  walking or napping;  meditating or singing.
